Why Garlands could be new queen of clubs

May 10 2002

by Zoran Blackie, Liverpool Echo

GARLANDS are moving from Liverpool's best kept secret to national and international status.

The club will officially be hosting the Radio One stage at this year's London Mardi Gras festival on July 6. Expect to see Garlands residents Dave Booth and Huey joined by Judge Jules, Eddie Halliwell, Tom Stephan and Smokin Jo.

The whole event is free and coaches will be running from Garlands to the event.

Not content with the UK, Garlands are spreading the word to Ibiza, the White Island.

The Garlands parties will held at various outdoor locations around the island, will all be totally free, themed, and will include free drinks where possible.

Closer to home, they have announced dates for the forthcoming Fairies Across The Mersey, on Sunday, June 30; Sunday, July 28; and Sunday, August 18.

Contact Garlands for tickets on 0151 709 9586, or go to www.garlands-online.co.uk for info.

  • THE government is to allow a free vote on proposals that will allow unmarried and same-sex couples the opportunity to adopt.
  • The proposals were announced this week by health secretary Alan Milburn.
