DAVID MOYES is convinced he will be at Goodison next season despite the uncertainty surrounding his future plans.
The Everton manager revealed yesterday he has not yet been offered a new contract and remains unaware of how much money is available to spend in the transfer window.
Moyes has already held talks with chairman Bill Kenwright over a new deal to replace the existing one, which expires in 12 months’ time.
The Scot has guided Everton to needing only a point from their final game of the season at home to Newcastle United tomorrow to guarantee fifth place and UEFA Cup qualification.
But despite admitting a sense of frustration at the board’s failure to determine the size of his transfer budget for this summer, Moyes fully expects to still be at Goodison next August.
“I am under contract here for another year, so I am preparing for next season,” said the Everton manager. “I’m just waiting on clarification. As far as I am concerned, I will be here unless I am told different.
“I want to find what is available, I just haven’t been given any indication yet. Until I know what is required, I can’t make those plans but, as I said, I will be here at the start of next season.
“At the moment, I have not been offered a contract. I can only wait until that time comes and see where we are. It’s important I find out what the club wants to do but there isn’t the possibility that this will be my final game at Goodison.
“We had a discussion about two months ago. That was the last time we spoke about it. We speak regularly.”
