Water voles to be moved for Everton FC Kirkby stadium

THE operation to move a colony of water voles standing between Everton FC and a new 50,000-seater stadium in Kirkby has started.

The rodents live on the overgrown banks of Kirkby Brook, which will have to be realigned if the Blues and Tesco win permission to build a new ground and shopping development.

This week, Tesco’s contractor Arcadis sent in JCBs, sheets of metal hoardings and a team of experts to move the animals on.
