A regular for the reserve team in the 2000/1 season, Hibbert finally made his first team debut in Everton's 2-0 win over West Ham at Upton Park at the end of March 2001, in what was a fine display.
A regular on the bench for the remainder of that season, first team appearances arrived on a more regular basis during the 2001/02 season.
Originally a midfielder, Hibbert has gone on to establish himself at right-back in recent seasons and coupled with his excellent defensive qualities, is more than able to make intelligent, probing runs forward.
Having been rewarded with a new contract in January 2003, following a run of solid performances for the Blues, Hibbert was more than happy to extend that deal in the summer of 2005 and remains a regular in David Moyes' side.
Hibbert was kept out for a large chunk of the 2006/ 2007 campaign due to a knee injury, but recovered to regain a regular starting place in the side.
