Tim Howard joined the Blues from Manchester United on a season-long loan deal in the summer of 2006.

A series of solid performances earned Howard a five-year contract with the Blues in February 2007, keeping 14 clean sheets and helping Everton into the UEFA cup in his first season.

Howard was one of the stars of the USA team which retained the CONCACAF Gold Cup title in 2007.
