Howard Kendall: Carling Cup schedule is madness for Everton

THE Carling Cup is not a popular competition and it’s no wonder that its organisers are not popular with David Moyes.
It’s not very often Everton’s manager launches attacks as scathing as the one he issued this week but I thought his comments were spot on; what his side are being asked to do is absolutely absurd.
Though players have never been fitter or better looked after than they are right now, it is asking the impossible of them to play on Thursday night, then Sunday afternoon and finish with Tuesday evening.
