The Reds initially told Blackburn they want an additional £500,000 for Warnock, but Rovers' refusal to pay the supplement has been the sticking point. Once a compromise is reached the Aussie will make the switch to Anfield, with a straight swop now most likely. Benitez is hopeful the matter will be resolved in time for the defender to join the squad ahead of Chelsea's visit.
