Steven Gerrard

LIVERPOOL skipper Steven Gerrard is out of tomorrow's trip to Charlton.

The Anfield captain has a knee injury which is certain to keep him on Merseyside, and also leaves him doubtful for the clash with Wigan on Saturday.

There were fears the blow could be worse when Gerrard underwent a scan at Melwood yesterday.

Fortunately, the knock appears to be a minor setback, but Rafa Benitez will be forced into a reshuffle ahead of the game.

Gerrard suffered the knock during Sunday's 2-0 defeat to Chelsea, but played through the pain barrier.

Benitez must now decide whether to recall Didi Hamann, or simply play Luis Garcia on the right flank.

Jerzy Dudek will return in goal after Liverpool decided not to appeal Pepe Reina's sending off.
