LIVERPOOL and adidas have confirmed a new sponsorship deal which comes into effect from July 2006.
Under the terms of the agreement, adidas will become the official sportswear supplier to the club. Adidas produced Liverpool's kit between 1985 and 1996.
The move has been expected for some time, with adidas having bought out Liverpool's existing kit supplier Reebok last year.
Liverpool are currently in dispute with Reebok over payments, and are being forced to rely on merchandise arriving from other outlets to supply the club shop.
The European Champions join an exclusive list of clubs who benefit from adidas' expertise including Real Madrid, AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Ajax, Olympic Marseille and the recently-signed Chelsea, whose deal also starts next season.
Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry said: "We had a very successful partner-ship with adidas in the 1980s and are delighted to be teaming up with them again.
"Adidas has a fantastic football heritage and we know that we will work well together. We are looking forward to producing a range of products that the fans will be proud to wear."
Erich Stamminger, President and CEO of the adidas brand, said: "Most fans will know our previous proud heritage with the club and that we have delivered some of their most iconic shirts to date."
