EVERTON youngsters are celebrating a fine tournament success after winning the under-13s girls Premier League Schools Tournament.
Represented by a six-a-side Broughton Hall High School from West Derby, Everton overcame Liverpool 2-0 in the final at the Madjeski Stadium.
More than 5,000 youngsters and 600 schools took part and it was a day to remember for the girls as they went through a full Premier League match day experience including using the first team dressing rooms, while the game was officiated by top flight referees Steve Bennett and Keith Stroud.
Everton’s women and girls coach Andy Spence hailed the girls’ achievement, saying: “The team have done fantastically well playing some great football and ran out deserved winners.”
