A YOUNG Tranmere reserves side were soundly beaten in their totesport.com League game at Dark Lane, Rossendale.
Rovers, 2-0 down at the interval through goals by Scott Spencer and Scott Hogan, pulled a goal back through Josh Macauley early in the second half.
But further goals by Adam Rundle, direct from a corner, and Marcus Manga put the issue beyond doubt.
Coach Shaun Garnett admitted: “Our performance lacked a bit of maturity – even though I could not fault the lads for their attitude and commitment. The boys have to realise they can be asked to play first team football at quite a young age these days.”
