Chris Shuker signed for Tranmere Rovers in the summer of 2006 to a barrage of welcome support. A player that started his career at the Manchester City youth team and a lot was expected of Shuker following an appearance in August 2002 against Tranmere where Manchester City won 7-1 and Shuker and fellow strike partner Nicolas Anelka scored.
He however struggled to fulfill his potential and after a few loan spells was sold for an undisclosed fee to Barnsley where he finally started to play to his maximum potential.
