IMAGINE... having a meal prepared by a chef who cooked for John Lennon.
That is the treat that lies in wait for food lovers on Merseyside after Michelin-star rated John Noon was revealed as the executive chef at the soon-to-be-opened Montreal.
John has won a reputation as the favourite chef of the stars having prepared meals for the likes of Phil Collins, The Spice Girls, Roy Orbison and even the Beatles.
After starting off as a kitchen hand at The Imperial Hotel in Blackpool, John moved south working his way up through kitchens of London including The Savoy Hotel and The Westbury in Mayfair where he was made chef de cuisine at 26.
It was during his time at The Westbury that he was asked to cook for the Beatles.
John told the Insider: "I was asked to prepare food for Roy Orbison's birthday party. This was a great honour for me as I was a big fan.
"At the end of the meal we were presented to Roy whose guests included The Beatles.
"I got chatting to John Lennon and reminded him that we had met before when I was 14 at The Winter Gardens in Blackpool and he had run straight into my mother as he tried to escape some fans.
"He remembered the incident and I reminded him of what a perfect gentleman he had been, checking my mother was fine before he continued his escape."
As well as cooking for the stars, John is something of a celebrity in his own right.
After leaving the capital, John moved to Lancaster to open the famous Ma Cuisine restaurant, which was filmed as part of Sky TV's Dining Out series.
