Portrait of John Lennon on display for two days in the window of Andrew Collinge's hairdressing salon on Castle Street, Liverpool, as part of the 25th anniversary commemorations

THIS portrait of John Lennon will be on display tomorrow and Saturday in the window of Andrew Collinge's hairdressing salon on Castle Street, Liverpool, as part of the 25th anniversary commemorations.

It was painted by Tony Brown on a background of newspaper cuttings charting the life of Lennon.

Tony is in the midst of painting 100 portraits of living Merseysiders, who have played an important role in local life, to be ready for 2007 when Liverpool celebrates the 800th anniverary of King John

granting it a Royal Charter. He is also working on a massive canvas to include great people from Merseyside's history.

Lennon will be one of them.
