BILL Harry uses his vast wealth of knowledge from his time at art college days to the formation of Mersey Beat to produce three encyclopdaeias - Encycolpaedia of Beatles People, The Beatles Encyclopaedia and the John Lennon Encyclopaedia.
He provides authoritative accounts on the huge number of people - both past and present - who have been involved with the Fab Four.
Each takes on the A- to-Z format and are excellent sources of research.
Encyclopaedia of Beatles People is illustrated with black and white photographs. It details The Beatles from their early art days to college gigs, via the Cavern and on to their major concerts (Blandford publishing).
One fascinating inclusion is the list of the hundreds of Mersey beat bands around in 1961.
The Beatles Encyclopaedia, at just under 1,200 pages, is admirable for its range of subject matter. There are 1,250 entries and half a million words including biographies of more than 500 people (Virgin).
The John Lennon Encyclopaedia: More than 1,000 pages. Bill has come up with a great starting point for anyone who wants to know about John from roots in Liverpool to The Beatles and New York.
Bill is currently working on the Paul McCartney Encyclopaedia and plans a Ringo Starr/ George Harrison Encyclopaedia.
