AN OPEN-TOP bus will transport musicians across Liverpool tonight as the city hosts its first free mobile concert.
Six unsigned acts will perform an acoustic session aboard the City Explorer tour bus from 5pm.
Staged by city company Live Smart, it is hoped the event will promote Merseyside's undiscovered talent days before the MathewStreet Festival kicks off.
A Live Smart spokeswoman said: "The City Explorer will be taking the music at the heart of the city through the streets for an hour or so as a mobile stage.
"All the acts are tipped for success and Live Smart already has a history of supporting home-grown talent. Earlier this year, the company sponsored Liverpool's comedy festival."
The line-up includes Danny Rankin, who has played concerts in Memphis, Tennessee, and hopes to release his first EP, Judging Amy, early next year.
Alun Parry is a former Merseyside Busker of the Year, who promises to deliver "post-punk rock social realism on acoustic guitar".
Six-piece rock band The Mojave Collection draws on a range of styles, including blues, country, soul and rock, influenced by artists such as the Beatles, Rolling Stones and Gram Parsons.
Andy Culshaw is a singer-songwriter from Ormskirk, whose music has an indie feel.
