Pete whose hits include The Story Of The Blues, Come Back and Sinful also contributed to The Farm's anthem All Together Now.
Now proud Scouser Pete is delighted to have another string to his bow (or should that be guitar?)
He has been chosen by Liverpool Culture Company to be the voice of the Liverpool Music Tour - an audio guide which takes people on a journey to some of the sites and sounds associated with Liverpool's musical past and present, from The Beatles to The Zutons and beyond.
The aim is to have it ready for the Mathew Street festival.
And he's also hoping to return to the stage with some live shows in December following the success of his shows in March this year.
For now he is going to open his heart in his home town.
