May 4 2005

By Thomas Martin, Liverpool Echo

THE City Exchange will be thronging with business people as the two day Business expo 2005 gets under way.

The week-long Business-LIVE event, Business expo on June 14, will see around 60 companies exhibiting their products and services to hundreds of potential customers in Old Hall Street.

As well as being an opportunity for business people to network and raise the profile of their companies, the event will also feature a fascinating seminar programme where experts will impart their knowledge and experience.

Top industry professionals-will give detailed insights into their own methods and philosophies and pass on top tips to help improve your business.

The impressive list of speakers includes Steven Hennessey from the Dale Carnegie Institute who will give a masterclass on public speaking in a seminar sponsored by Viacom Outdoor.

Next day Mr Hennessey will run a course on coaching employees. Another seminar will advise on maximising the value of PR in local media.

Other seminars include Pensions for Investment by Ray Goodman from Goodman's Solicitors, Capital of Culture, Branding, and Growing from Local to National hosted by restaurant group Shere Khan.

In the main Business expo arena businesses will be able to pitch themselves at potential clients and customers and assess the competition.

They will also have the opportunity to launch new products, build brand awareness and position their products as market leaders.

Exhibitors will be able to take advantage of an audience where four in five people are involved in buying their products.

The BusinessLIVE week kicks off on Monday, June 13, with a launch party sponsored by Liverpool John Moores University. The event will also incorporate the Daily Post's 150th birthday celebrations.

Business expo 2005 will take place on the Tuesday and Wednesday while Wednesday evening will see the Liverpool ECHO Enterprise-Champions Awards. BusinessLIVE's glittering finale will be the Daily Post Regional Business Awards, now established as one of the biggest events in the north west business calendar.
