TELLY tough girl Ruth Badger - a star of The Apprentice show - will learn a thing or two about business when she meets our Enterprise Champions next week.
Ruth had to be smart to convince Alan Sugar that she has what it takes to survive in the business world when she finished runner up in his show.
But she can still learn from the people who line up in our awards - recognising the great local talent keeping our economy afloat.
That is the viewof TV personality Simon O'Brien, who will compère the awards night next We dnesday at the AlbertDock's Pan Am bar and restaurant.
He said he thought Ruth excelled on the BBC2 shows how.
Mr O'Brien said: "That was no easy competition she was in and she will certainly have a few good points to put over.
"But I also believe she maybe abletopick up some really good points from our successful business people at the awards on the night."
Simon O'Brien compered last year's Enterprise Champions Awards and said he is looking forward to hosting this year's event, the fifth annual ECHO business awards.
He said: "I was terribly impressed by the wealth of business talent out there at last year's event.
"Having run a business for six years I take my hat off to anyone who takes it on.
"Running a business and having staff is largely a thankless task and to get some kind of recognition for it through an awards event like the Liverpool ECHO Enterprise Champions, is f antastic."
The actor established his acting credentials in Brookside. After leaving the series he founded his own business, The Hub cycle centre and cafe in Berry Street.
Today he is concentrating on his TV and acting roles.
The awards final takes place at Pan Am next Wednesday evening and tickets are available, priced £15+VAT by contacting the Enterprise Champions hotline on 0151-472 2805.
