Our other stars on the night included DNA testing firm Sequence Biotechnologies run by Kellie McLoughlin and Nichola Lawton who wonthe MicroBusiness of the Year and Best NewBusiness awards sponsored by the Liverpool ECHO.
Nichola said: "To work really hard at something and then have someone unconnected say what you are doing is really good means a lot to us."
The girls were also named regional winner in this week's HSBC Start-Up Stars Awards.
Our Small Business of the Year, sponsored by Business Liverpool, was Knowsley-based K Seal Glass and director Stephen Woolley said: "We are over the moon to be rewarded for investing in Merseyside. Itmeans alot to all our people."
Social Enterprise of the Year, sponsored by 2020 Liverpool, went to Alternatives which gives former drug and alcohol misusers away back into work. Project manager Malcolm Sutton said: "This is reward for the vision and faith of our trustees who have taken a lot of risks to let us be where we are."
Our Young Business Person of the Year, sponsored by Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, was Ben Hatton, who said: "It is really important we are based in Liverpool. This is a great achievement."
