THE call goes out today to all aspiring small businesses in the fourth annual Liverpool ECHO Enterprise Champions Awards. Enterprise Champions 2005 wants to recognise and reward the best and most exciting new ventures across the region. Between now and April 8, we will be inviting small firms and individuals to enter the six categories in this year's awards, which culminate in a final in Liverpool on June 15. Last year's awards attracted 166 entries and were the most successful so far. The overall Enterprise Champion was Brendon Kenny, head of Birkenhead firm Laserfix who impressed the judges after starting on the shop floor as a 16-year-old YTS trainee and working his way to managing director of a £6m turnover venture. Brendon is just the kind of story we want to tell again this year as we highlight tales of enterprise, sacrifice and success. Once again, the Enterprise Champions Awards are in association with Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank and supported by Business Link for Greater Merseyside.
