Cheryl Powell, First Choice Retail's managing director, said First Choice was committed to supporting Just Go with its marketing, product range and selling systems.

Mr Bircham was sales and operations manager for United Norwest Co-op, and Mark Johnson was regional sales manager for United Norwest Co-op before they launched Just Go, investing £5,000 each and borrowing £10,000 from the bank.

They opened their first shop in Mold and following the purchase of Totally Travel in Wirral, the company doubled to six branches.

Further expansion created branches Birkenhead, Wallasey, Nantwich, Frodsham, Warrington, Wrexham, Flint and Deeside. The business now employs more than 80 people.

The only duplication of sites between Just Go and First Choice was at Warrington, where both outlets have been retained.
