MERSEYSIDE internet firm Dreamscape Solutions said yesterday its recentlylaunched website for football fans was now attracting more than 1m hits a month.
Dreamscape launched Vital Football in November and it allows fans to contribute their views and articles free of outside control. The company has already attracted advertising for the site from companies including Vodafone, Thomas Cook and Betfred and hopes it will be profitable within 12 months.
Fans can post their material once they register for a free account. Each club's portal has an editorial team to ensure fresh debate is quickly posted and forums are moderated.
Every English and Scottish league team is represented on the site with Scottish Cup hopefuls Gretna fielding the most active.
Nottingham Forest, Rotherham and Swansea are in the top 10 for having the biggest following.
Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham are featured amongst the most popular Premiership teams. Manchester United do not feature in the current top 10.
Lifelong Evertonian and creative director Bernard McCabe said they wanted to put football back where it belongs, with the fans.
He said: "The clubs, betting companies and the media, control much of the online information. We wanted to challenge that."
