Beatles fans clamour to be first guests at hotel

The restaurant will be one of the focal points of the Hard Day's Night hotel

THOUSANDS of Beatles from across the world, desperate to be among the first guests at Liverpool's Hard Day's night hotel, have inundated its website with reservation requests.

They include one man in Norway who is willing to charter a plane to bring over a party of 50 Fab Four devotees.

The £17m Beatles-themed boutique hotel, partly funded with European Objective One funding, will offer 110 luxury rooms, each one telling a different part of the story of the band, and will open in autumn next year.

Yesterday it was revealed that enquiries from fans wanting to make reservations at the hotel on the newly launched website, www. harddaysnighthotel.com, had quadrupled during the Mathew Street Festival, with more than 5,000 extra hits recorded in the last few days.

Many of those logging on have attempted to make reservations only to discover the online booking service won't be available until the spring.

Thousands of fans have emailed asking to be put on a waiting list to be among the first guests staying at the hotel, on the corner of Mathew Street and North John Street.

A number of enquiries have also been received from people wanting to work at the four-star establishment, although the recruitment drive won't be in full swing until early next year.
