Going Fourth: the Grace race

THE current timetable for the Fourth Grace was outlined to members of Liverpool's Chamber of Commerce last week.

* Aug 2004 - planning application

* Nov 2004 - planning consent pMar 2005 - start on site at Mann Island

* Dec 2006 - museum structure in place

* Jan 2008 - finish Cloud

* Mar 2008 - finish commercial

* Dec 2008 - finish residential

The project received the full backing of leading Merseyside businessman David Wade-Smith, vice-chair of the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce.

He said: "The Fourth Grace represents what this city is doing in the 21st century.

"This iconic building will act as a beacon and send a message across Britain, Europe and the world that Liverpool is back in business. We need to make it happen."

* THE Fourth Grace will include a new Museum of Liverpool, a boutique style hotel, three floors of office accommodation and a Liverpool Lounge at the top of the Cloud.
