The icing was rich and the sponge moist, despite the lack of cream.
Sadly, the desserts defeated us and we left more than the usual scrapings behind on our plates.
It was a lovely meal, in a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. And we knew to trust what was served up because we overheard the serving staff discussing what they were planning to eat once the restaurant had closed for the evening.
