Animal art a big draw

Jun 9 2005

By Helen Korn, Skelmersdale Advertiser

ANIMAL artwork by a talented Skelmersdale artist is displayed at an exhibition in Samlesbury Hall near Preston.

Nicola Moore, 51, of Elmers Green, is a member of the Society of Equestrian Artists North Group, and has organised Absolutely Animal - the first exhibition of its kind.

The artist runs her own Pigsty Studio and often exhibits in London and the USA. She is displaying ten drawings and paintings of horses, wildlife and dogs.

She said: "I have always drawn and painted and started working as a designer and illustrator. I did a couple of pictures for other people and the work suddenly snowballed. People were asking me to draw all sorts of things.

"I have done cartoons for Essex police's safety campaign and illustrations for all sorts of books."

The exhibition runs until Thursday, June 30. Opening hours are Sundays to Fridays 11am until 4.30pm.

Samlesbury Hall is a few minutes drive off Junction 1 on the M6.

Entry to the display will be £3 for adults, £1 for children and parking is free.
