CATWALK glamour came to Liverpool with the start of the ECHO fashion show.
More than 1,000 people enjoyed two performances at the Lifestyles tennis centre in Wellington Road, Wavertree.
Sponsored by Lewis's, the 11th event featured Marks & Spencer, Coast, Karen Millen and Ethel Austin, as well as George, Animal and Liverpool-based store Desires.
Lingerie designer The Secret Drawer featured a collection of glamorous underwear, while the Liverpool Bridal House brought a touch of romance with its wedding gowns.
An interactive lifestyles and beauty exhibition offered free makeovers, consultations and manicures.
The biggest applause of the evening went to the reader models, 16 of whom were selected out of several hundred applicants to join professionals on the catwalk.
"We are thrilled with both the look of the show and the number of readers who have come along to see it," said Jenny Snell, ECHO events co-ordinator.
"It just proves what a fashion conscious city we now live in. This show has become the region's premier fashion event."
Mistress of ceremonies was Debi Jones, who said: "The ECHO Fashion Show is a fabulous dayout and, with a lot of new names on the cat-walk, this year is better than ever.
* The show continues today with another matinee and evening performance, Tickets priced at £6 and £12 are available on the door.
