And the studio went mental. "They were saying how dare you film something else. But to their credit they said we'll test it. And so they did - in Wimbledon. And they loved it and the audience loved it.
"The thing is we probably made it for the catering budget of Spiderman 2. They've got bigger things to worry about."
What the real ending is you will have to wait and see but Daniel insists that it puts the seal on a film that does not glorify crime.
"In a way it is moral tale. The ending is due to the consequence of all the action that has gone before and you can see what the repercussions can be."
Which does not talke anything away from the entertainment, says Daniel, returning to the main theme about good BGMs.
"People just like a cracking story. It's also about liking that anti hero bit - about doing something and getting away with it."
Matthew agrees: "It's like that line from Goodfellas where Ray Liotta says I can't imagine living that life of suburban nine to five job and you think I'd like to live my life like that I'd love to have the women the money the cars. The difference is that most people are so ethical that they won't succumb to it."
