MEDIUM Derek Acorah is used to the odd shock. But even he was stunned by the explosive events while filming his latest TV show.
Derek Acorah's Quest For Guy Fawkes sees the ECHO columnist on the mystery trail in an attempt to uncover secrets about the infamous Gunpowder Plot mastermind and his followers.
He visits the haunts of the conspirators, including the sites of the Duck & Drake Pub on London's Strand and the Old Palace Yard where Guy Fawkes was hung, drawn and quartered.
"And I was blown away when he came through to me," he says.
"I had said to the producers there was virtually no chance of getting a sipirtual link with Guy Fawkes.
"But our trek ended up where he was born, a little place in York, and he was there and his mother too! I was thrilled that that had happened."
The programme, to be screened on Living TV on Saturday (November 5, 9pm) is the first of a series of quests which will see the celebrity medium on the search to find out more about famous or infamous figures in history.
"The idea is to go on the trail of someone where there's still a mystery to solved," says Derek.
"Guy Fawkes was a great one to do because it is the 400th anniversary of the Gunpowder Plot on Saturday, and I thoroughly enjoyed doing it.
"It took us to lots of different towns following Fawkes and his fellow plotters ending up, as I said, where he was born.
