The men spent two weeks working with composer and producer Keith Holden. He took a mobile recording studio into the prison and helped the inmates write lyrics and melodies before laying the tracks down.
Only one has a name - the Big House Blues - but the styles cover everything from rap to folk.
Mr Holden, 35, owns 4barmusic and is more used to visiting schools than prisons.
But he is already working on a new project to stage a concert inside the prison next month with another group of inmates.
The men will perform three original songs and covers of Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb and Stand By Me.
"It took four or five meetings with Delia before I felt comfortable with it, but as soon as I went in the first time to meet the men I couldn't wait to get started.
"There wasn't one incident or security problem throughout the time I worked with them.
"They treated me with a lot of respect, they respect anyone who comes in from the outside, and they produced some brilliant stuff.
"One lad wrote a song from scratch in 45 minutes and the next day recorded it and he had no experience.
"Another man, who is in for life, wrote an instrumental. He said he didn't want any words he just wanted it to reflect what was going on in his head.
