He says: "I know the song has its own message for whoever wants to hear it. I have great, great affection for it.
"I will never tire of singing it. When I sing it whether I am in Newcastle or Liverpool or Manchester - people out there relate to it - they grew up with it..
He says they also love the funkier dance hits which were massive in the United States, such as You Sexy Thing, Every-one's A Winner and Heaven is the Back Seat of My Cadilac.
Although Hot Chocolate split in 1987 their legacy lives on.
"I like to get over to the UK and see my loyal fans," says Errol. "They have kept me there and they are the ones who treat me as an old friend coming back to town.
"On this tour I am going to sing some early stuff such as Love is Life - one of the first songs I ever wrote. I do like to write about the gentle things in life."
