Kitten takes a new musical direction

So far, all the tracks for the album are written, but Jenny hasn't finished recording them, with many still in demo form.

"There isn't an expected release date for the album yet, as I'd like to put out two singles first. And I don't have a title for it yet - I think I'm going to have a dinner party to discuss the name!" she says with a wink.

"The album is pop and dance, with some nice ballads and rock-pop. It's a bit of all sorts, which is what my musical taste is like. It changes with the wind."

Bubbling with confidence and joie de vivre, Jenny is known for enjoying the good life. Before she joined Atomic Kitten's Natasha Hamilton and Liz McClarnon in 2001, replacing Kerry Katona, she was famous for sunbathing topless with Prince Andrew on a yacht.

Her music career started when she joined Precious, who represented the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1999.

When they broke up in 2000, she was taken into Atomic Kitten, with friends Liz and Tash, as they're affectionately known.

Together, the girls had chart-topping hits with Whole Again, Eternal Flame and The Tide Is High. The trio decided to take a break in 2004 so Tash could spend more time with her two sons.

"We haven't officially split up - we are still together as a band," insists Jenny..

"We're just relaxing at the moment, and we'll probably do another single again one day, but nothing is planned for the near future."

She's also keen to deny any rumours that the break was due to their friendships disintegrating.

"Yes, we bickered and we argued, except we don't do it any more now that we're not living in each other's pockets. When we worked together, we had silly arguments about little things, and that's as deep as it got.

"It was always forgotten within half an hour, when we'd offer each other a cup of tea. We're still good friends and we keep in touch," she says..

* JENNY FROST'S debut solo single, Crash Landing, is out later this month.
