BACKBEAT, the movie about the Beatles' Hamburg days, is to be released as a special collectors' edition DVD next month.
Director Ian Softley's film centred on the friendship between John Lennon and 'fifth' Beatle Stuart Sutcliffe.
Both had known each other at Liverpool art college, and Sutcliffe's early death was a dreadful blow to Lennon.
In the movie, John is played by Liverpool actor Ian Hart, with American actor Stephen Dorff as Stuart.
Liverpool actor Scot Williams, who played the first Beatles' drummer Pete Best says: "It's 11 years since the movie, but it has become something of a cult classic and is still spoken of very fondly."
