Exhibition to make it all crystal clear

Jul 8 2005

Southport Visiter, Daily Post

THE organiser of this year's Mind Body and Soul exhibition says sceptics should come along to the Floral Hall this Sunday.

The festival, held in conjunction with the Southport Visiter, is one of the largest of its kind on Merseyside.

Janet Hesketh said: "I used to think crystal therapy was a load of rubbish, but then I found out about it because I collected crystals. I joined a course and after a couple of months became absolutely hooked.

"You just couldn't put it down to anything else. People have had marked reductions in blood pressure.

"It's amazing to think you can get rid of a headache with just a couple of crystals, it's amazing," she claims.

The festival is held in the hall's Promenade, Lakeside and Birk-dale suites.

It features stalls and free workshops covering health care, spiritual and homeopathic healing practices, well-being and clairvoyance.

Traders from all over the UK will demonstrate techniques like reiki, massage, aromatherapy and hypnotherapy.

Visitors can take part in free workshops and demonstrations and also appearing isfortune teller Gayna Florence Perry, a regular on Five's Housebusters.

Janet added: "We've got 52 stalls this time, and we're hoping record crowds will turn out."

The event runs from 10am to 5.30pm. Admission is £5 for adults, £4 for concessions and children under 11 get in free.
