LOOKING for somewhere to take the children this week? Why not celebrate sea life in this year's Irish Sea Marine Week from August 6-14. The Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Manchester & North Merseyside is joining other organisations around the Irish Sea to celebrate its marine life. For the fourth year running, Irish Sea Marine Week will see a boatload of exciting activities taking place both at the coast and inland. A varied programme of events will ensure there is something to entice and inspire all ages! David Dunlop, acting marine conservation officer for The Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Manchester & North Merseyside, explains: "We all like to be beside the seaside and cool off during the summer, but how many of us think about the creatures who make their homes both on the shore and beneath the waves? "Marine Week will help to introduce people to this forgotten world beneath the waves." Irish Sea Marine Week events include rambles and sea-watches as well as land-based activities involving crafts, family orientated games and activities.
