SAINTS' star centre Jamie Lyon picked up the ECHO's Rugby League Special Achievement Award.
The 23-year-old Australian set Super League alight last season with some scintillating displays playing alongside his countryman Darren Albert, notching up 24 tries and 49 goals - a total of 194 points.
Lyon, who was reluctant to go into too much detail about his season 'pig hunting' back in Australia, said: "It's great to receive this award.
"I love St Helens, love the fans, and I'm loving my rugby.
Hopefully we can win a few more games than last season when Super League starts again next week."
The former Paramatta player has been in outstanding form since his arrival and if his contribution in the friendly against Widnes recently is anything to go by, Super League defences are in for a torrid time again this season.
Lyon picked up the award from Saints skipper Paul Sculthorpe.
Also supporting Lyon at the awards were his Saints teammates Paul Wellens and Jason Hooper, former Saints skipper Chris Joynt and ex-Saints favourite, now conditioning coach, Apollo Perelini.
Lyon, who has picked up a host of individual awards for his performances last season, has a tough decision to make at the end of the year with NRL clubs queuing for his signature.
But Saints will be making every effort to keep him at Knowsley Road.
