Here are three easy forms of ‘double-duty’ exercises you can do this summer:
WALK & TALK
YOU want to get fit and who can blame you? But it’s not going to happen if the place you’re most likely to be found is on the sofa and the only exercise you get is walking to the fridge and back. So, why not socialise whilst exercising.
When: For the latest diary of walks log on to www.lhps.org.uk/hp_walkforhealth.html
Where: Throughout the city
What: A leisurely stroll where people get a chance to walk and talk.

GET GREEN, GET ACTIVE
The rise of community conscience means that you can no longer jump into a fuel guzzling 4X4 to get the morning newspaper or chomp away on non Fair Trade chocolate. Instead, you have to make the world a better place with by joining Liverpool’s Green Gym
When: Every Saturday from 10am to 1pm.
Where: Princes Park, Toxteth.
What: Conservation work has overtaken aerobics as the activity de jour.
Organised by: Heal 8
Cost: Free

FOUR LEGGED ENCOURAGEMENT
If you’re looking for an incentive to exercise, why not rescue an abandoned dog from an animal centre. Not only will you be doing a good turn but research shows that owning a pet could also reduce your stress levels and blood pressure.
