Choi makes fine start in Hawaii

KOREA'S KJ Choi was joint leader of the field in the first round of the Mercedes-Benz Championship in Hawaii on 3 under par after 16 holes.

Joining him was South Africa's Trevor Immelman (pictured), also after 16 holes.

On two under par were America's Will MacKenzie (after 13 holes), Fiji's Vijay Singh (after eight), Stephen Ames (Canada, after seven holes) and Jim Furyk (USA, after six).

On one under was America's Davis Love III (after 13) with Luke Donald (after six).
