LAND Rover’s Discovery now comes with the option of an integrated rear entertainment system but it cannot be retro-fitted to existing models.
It includes a six-disc DVD player and twin screens to enable two passengers to view or listen to their own source independently.
Integrated into the existing infotainment network, the system also incorporates a supervisory mode that allows front seat occupants to control the rear viewing source and functions. This gives parents the option to select and operate discs for children and monitor what they are watching or listening to.
Mounted in the back of the front headrests are two 6.5-inch widescreen displays. One person can be watching a DVD while another plays on a games console connected via auxiliary inputs.
The system has been co-developed by Land Rover and infotainment specialist Alpine.
