FOR any private buyer who intends to keep their car for a few years, the Kia cee'd is an unbeatable bargain. And there is one simple reason for that supremacy - it has a seven year, 100,000 mile warranty. I rest my case. Peace of mind in your new car is far better now than it used to be but that safety net is unbeatable - and the cars are great to drive too. The pro_cee'd is the three door sporting model of a range that also includes five door hatches and estates. But even with the largest 1.6 petrol engine I wasn't expecting any fireworks. However, this 1.6 has more than 120bhp on tap and is willing and punchy. The five door handles well and gives excellent grip but this one has even better suspension, which gives huge fun through a few corners. The only downside is an occasionally lumpy ride - something I could live with easily. Interior The pro_cee'd has an excellent driving position with plenty of wheel and seat adjustment, superb brakes and very good refinement. There is plenty of space for four, enough for five and the boot will carry all their gear if they travel reasonably light.
