IT was another strong field of entries for the Daily Post's annual Regional Business Awards in 2006. The shortlist, first revealed in May, will be whittled down to the winners and runners up at tomorrow's big night.

* Party Princess: The judges recognised that this company operates in avery competitive market. It removes the burden of organising children's parties from the parents.
It demonstrates good potential growth and also could represent agood franchise opportunity. The judges felt that this company offers aservice that covers a niche in the engineering market.
It's a business that is capable of generating significant turnover growth and high profitability in the future and is a prime example of gritty entrepreneurship overcoming adversity.
Business Liverpool SME of the Year
* Cash Management Systems: The judges were impressed by the financial figures of this company, which reflect strong margins and strong signs of sustainability and growth.
* RS Clare: This is a long-established Liverpool-based company with a steady and strong turnover. Profitability is strong and potential for future growth is very good.
* Flowtech: The judges believe this company has great future potential. Its profit margins and growth prospects are also good.
