It's all over and France will go on to face Italy in the final. Scolari enters the field to launch a tirade at the Uruguayan referee, but his whinging will count for nothing as his side must now settle for a, truth be told, meaningless third place play off game against the host nation

Louis Saha comes into the game in place of Thierry Henry
In a rare French attack, Sagnol hits a deep cross which Ricardo claims under no pressure at all

Scolari throws on former Spurs striker Helder Postiga to partner Ronaldo up front, Costinha is the man to make way
Simao crosses in from the left, but Ronaldo, now playing as an out-and-out striker is unable to get on to it. Portugal wont have too much success crossing for Ronaldo you'd think - he really needs it played to feet
Ribery comes off after failing to shine tonight, and on comes Sidney Govou who will slot straight in on the wing
Portugal are dominating possession as France seem content to sit on their one-goal lead - they tried this against South Korea, and didn't do very well!
Malouda comes off with Sylvain Wiltord taking his place - a like-for-like substitution
Scolari tries to shake things up as he introduces Simao in place of the misfiring Pauleta
Pauleta looks forlorn after going down under a challenge from Gallas as he attempted to get onto a Figo through ball, but the referee waves play on
Abidal is back on the pitch to return France to their full compliment
Ferreira capitalises on the space left by Abidal to get forward, but his deep cross is plucked out of the air by Barthez
Abidal is injured after taking a cross flush in the face, temporarily reducing France to 10 men
Miguel is injured after falling awkwardly in the tackle and he is replaced by Paulo Ferreira
The Portuguese players surround the referee as Miguel lays prone, but there really was nothing in the challenge
Miguel does really well down the right, cutting in and beating two defenders before feeding Pauleta, but his attempt to play in the full back goes astray as he had already gone to ground in an attempt to win a free kick
Ribery launches a rapid counter attack down the left before cutting it back for Zidane who in turn tries to find the unmarked Henry, but his deflection is hit beyond the Arsenal star
Figo feeds it into Pauleta in the area, and he turns sharply in the box before unleashing a shot which has sections of the crowd celebrating, albeit momentarily as they realise the ball actually hit the side netting
France have started the better here and surely a second goal would put this beyond Portugal given their inability to score goals
France engineer space for Ribery to fire in a shot from 20 yards which Ricardo does well to save, albeit theatrically as the shot was directed straight at him
Henry seizes on a loose pass 40 yards out before embarking on a trademark run in which he beats his man before unleashing a fierce low drive which Ricardo saves, but only just! The ball was squirming under his body before he got down to deflect the ball narrowly wide although he didn't know that much about it
Ronaldo is straight back into the action, bursting down the right wing past three defenders, but his final product is poor and is easily cleared by France
We're back underway in Munich with France just 45 minutes away from a second World Cup final in eight years.
Half time in Munich and France will be very happy after being denied possession for long periods, but they have a couple of gears left if needed. Portugal, as against England, have offered very little in the final third other than long-range shots
Ronaldo, a constant thorn in the side of the French defence, again runs directly at them but he opts to shoot from an acute angle 25 yards out, which doesn't trouble Barthez and annoys Pauleta who had pulled away at the far post

Maniche is afforded time and space far out and he fires in a shot which Barthez gets down well to
Off a two-step run up, Zidane slams it low and hard to Ricardo's left. Although the Portuguese stopper manages to get a hand to it, the power ensures it finds the back of the net
Thierry Henry flicks the ball square on the edge of the area, and the Arsenal man goes down as Carvalho stretches for the ball to no avail. Zidane is the man to try and beat Ricardo
Carvalho slices a clearance from a Sagnol cross, but Henry fails to capitalise on the opportunity
Henry carves out some space near the left-hand byline with a series of classy turns, but his cross with the outside of his foot is hit straight at the scourge of England penalty takers, Ricardo

Portugal are having the majority of possession here and seem to have bags of time with the ball

Figo is dispossessed in midfield and France launch an attack through Eric Abidal, but his eventual cross flashes across the face of goal with Henry unable to get anything on it
